Logging water and food ?

Recommended Posts

Hi. A little background first. I am 10 days post op and down 13 lbs since the day of surgery on 1/26 and weighing at home on 1/29.

Obviously, I am happy with a 13 lb loss but I've loss nothing since. I'm hoping dmaybe that was the Water weight I was holding.

I feel like I'm able to drink more and maybe it's adding to me not weighing less. Plus I gave in to my Pickle Juice craving but don't feel bloated from that at all.

Do you guys have a SET eating and drinking schedule to go by? If so could you share how you devide up the day? Do you write every single thing down?

Amy☆☆☆

I try to get some Protein, liquid or pureed, within the 1st hour of getting up. And yes for the time being I'm writting it all down including my Vitamins and meds until this all becomes like second nature. I measure my foods and liquids so I know what's going in me. This works for me and I have less chance of over eating and/or getting dehydrated. Hope this is helpful for you.

I lost 11 pounds in the first few days after coming home... and then started gaining and losing the same 2 pounds over and over to the point I decided to only weigh once a week instead of daily.

I am still on full liquids until Tuesday... in the meantime what I do is at 730, 1030, 130, 430 and 730 each day, I try to have something OTHER than Clear Liquids.

For instance, a few spoons of yogurt, some Soup, a couple ounces of Protein shake, etc. The rest of the time I sip, sip sip! I do Water, crystal light, or sugar free popsicles to the tune of 40-60 ounces a day in between those times (remembering to give myself a break of no Clear Liquids 15 to 30 minutes before and after each thing that is not clear liquid, so I'm not filling up on Water at "meal times"... cause that makes it harder to get my Protein in).

And I do write it all down... my doctor gave me a daily log to use. :-)

Hi Amy- I was sleeved on the 24th and on full liquids. I am using the Bariastic app to record everything.

I start the day with herbal tea.

Breakfast is usually runny cream of wheat made with Fairlife nonfat milk.

Take Vitamins.

9 am I take 2 tylenol and walk for 40 mins on a treadmill. (The binder they gave me helps too!)

10 am Protein shake. vanilla premier Protein Shake with scoop of Protein powder, PB2 powder, and 1/2 banana is my favorite!

12 pm broth and maybe sf Jello.

Between 12 and 3 pm- Walking treadmill for 40 mins.

2 pm. 16 oz Water with Crystal Light and scoop of Protein Powder.< /p>

Between 3 and 6 pm -Walking Treadmill 40 mins

6 pm Yogurt (triple zero) or runny mashed potatoes or strained Soup

8 pm sf Jello, pudding or Popsicle.

Take Calcium chewables.< /p>

This will change when I go back to work, but for now, it provides a routine I can stick to!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
