Hi everyone! I have absolutely no idea how this app is used but I figured I would give it a try! Finally had my first consult with the surgeon yesterday, so I am at the beginning of the 6 month pre-surgery journey. Anyone else starting right now? Would love some new friends I can go on this journey with!

I just started my 6 months about 2 weeks ago. I have my first nut appointment at the end of February. I have Crohn's disease, colitis, and I'm also lactose intolerant. I had my gallbladder removed 10 years ago, so no worries about that. Yay! I live in Massachusetts and I'm excited for this journey and to join this community! Any suggestions for soy Protein shakes would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! I just had my first class on the 27th! My binder class is June 21st with surgery roughly around the second week of July. I fly in for my stuff so now that I'm back home I'm starting to make the changes to my diet to get used to after surgery life. So far we are focusing on not drinking during meals and for 30 mins after, getting in 64 oz a day without chugging, and eating small meals 5-6 times a day that take at least 15 min to eat. :) I would love to have some pals to go thru all this with as I only know one other person who has had this surgery

Hello all! Another newbie here. I had my first meeting with the surgeon on Jan. 20, this week wrapped up my PCP and cardiologist clearance. Tomorrow I have my first group meeting with the dietitian and exercise physiologist, looking forward to getting everything going in that department. I have a 3-month pre-surgery program for my insurance (Cigna), so I am hoping to have surgery in late May or June!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
