Hello All,

I'm so excited and Nervous, I fly from Alaska to Seattle WA, This Friday for my 1st Consultation with my Surgeon and the Dietitian! What can I expect to happen at this visit? I have no idea what will be asked or what will be expected. When I get back to Alaska I have my first appointment with my PCP to document my weight for the next 3 months per my insurance request. My surgeons office told me that I will be able to schedule my surgery date before I leave there on Monday!! Is this the norm? do you usually get to pick a surgery date prior to being approved by insurance? Also my husband is flying down with me, and this will be the first time in our relationship (almost 5 years) he will know how much I weigh which is terrifying! Anyone else's spouse not know their weight? Thanks in advance for any advice!

The scale is just a number....Your husband loves you and sees you everyday... Surgeon consult: weight, medical history, which surgery you want and why. He/She will give you a list of requirements for his office and insurance. Diet and what is expected before and after surgery for success. GOOD LUCK!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
