Hi, From Liberty

I'm at the very begining stages here but I have signed up for a seminar and will go in for that. I have been thinking about this for awhile now. I hope my insurance will cover this. I will find out on that as well.

Hello to everyone out there!! There are so many stories and its so encouraging to hear everyone is doing so well!!

I know that with some of the weight loss programs I have done such as phen-phen,phenteramine and more aren't covered.

The secret phrase is "Medically necessary".

If you are covered for medically necessary weight loss surgery, you will be covered for the band, provided all other criteria are met. Ask your insurance company to be sure, or use their online coverage section, or talk to your insurance or H.R. representative.

Thank you for the information I will definitely get some details. This all helps alot. I mean I wouldn't have a clue unfortunately you mention weight loos and its automatically turned down.

I looked at your photos and you look great!! :clap2:

Thanks for the inspiration!!

Liberty, MO? If so, we're neighbors.

really are you in liberty or close by? How cool is that to be practically in your back yard. eyebrows.gif
Well, technically we're in Kansas City, but we're like a mile from the Liberty city limits, off of 291. We have KC address, Liberty phone number... we're on that weird divide. :peep:

oh your on the other side of the highway where all the new construction is? Maybe we could be our support. I spoke to a lady at work who is also considering this to. I had no idea with her either.

Yep, that's exactly where we're at. Where the farms used to be. *sigh* I miss seeing the cows on my drive home.

There are several bandsters within 40 minutes or so. Check in on the MO or KS threads (I frequent KS more because that's where I had my surgery done). And feel free to ask any questions you have - same for your co-worker. I end up giving little mini seminars at work because so many people "come out of the closet" with interest in the band as soon as they find out that's how I've lost the weight. :rose:

I did check with my insurance co. They don't cover the surgery. however I can enroll for the insurance through my work if they do my surgery would be scheduled for sometime in Jan. 2008. I'm nervous but yet very excited. I will check out mo and kansas threads.

I've been kind of out of the loop getting ready for halloween and tours.

Hey all, I am from KC also. live 2 miles from Worlds of Fun. Will be doing the Lap Band soon with Malley. Hopefully by the end of the year. Had to cancel Aug 29th band due to calcium levels. I am self pay.

Keep up the good work. I would do self pay at this point. my seminar with them is next month. So my husband is able to go with me.
