I'm 4 months out and I'm at a stall right now as well! It happens and it's not unusual to be stuck so soon out its your body is trying to adjust to changes I believe is what I was told! It will be Ok and you will start losing again soon don't be discouraged OK just stay on track get your Protein and Vitamins in and continue to eat healthy and it will eventually start falling off again! and every scale you step on will not say the same I promise I use to get so discouraged too when I know what my scale said at home but drs scale said something different! Clothes weigh about 2-4lbs that's why my Dr takes off 4 lbs for clothes when they weigh me! I started at 345 surgery weight was 322 and current weight is 255! YOU GOT THIS KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND KEEP PUSHING!!!

Don't get discouraged. Everyone's journey is different. I just got off an eight week stall and I am only fourteen weeks post op. Try to keep a positive outlook. You will break out of the stall.

Your weight will vary during the day. So generally I weigh myself first thing in the morning butt naked using a very accurate and repeatable scale. When I put my clothes on (shoes, wallet, pants, shirt, coat etc) it can easily add 5 pounds to my weight. Also my weight will vary due to the weight of my meals and drinks.

The three most important elements after RNY gastric bypass surgery are to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight.

Weight loss is achieved after surgery through meal volume control. You begin at 2 ounces (1/4 cup) per meal and gradually over the next year and a half increase the volume to 1 cup per meal. With this minuscule amount of food, it is next to impossible to meet your Protein daily requirements by food alone, so therefore you need to rely on supplements such as Protein shakes.
One thing to do now at this stage is to assess your protein intake. Your protein requirement is met by a combination of the protein from your meals combined with the protein from your supplements (protein shakes, protein bars). Since your meal volume is beginning to increase, that also means that the amount of protein from meals is increasing, especially if you concentrate on consuming high protein meals. Therefore you could be able to reduce your reliance on supplements and the calories they contain. I went from 3 Protein Shakes a day, down to 2, then 1 and finally zero when my meal volume increased to 1 cup per meal at a year and a half.

I'm just past 3 months out and while I haven't experienced a true stall, I've had weeks where my weight goes down, then back up and then finally down again to the new low number. I'm pretty sure my issues are due to my periods - something I thought was almost over but is now back again with a vengeance due to the weight loss. So my weight can be 304 one day and then 307 the next couple of days due to Water retention and Constipation. But then both issues right themselves and 3 - 4 more pounds will be permanently gone. Then a new cycle of up and down starts.

Make sure you are reaching your Water and Protein targets each day. I've found that when I meet the Protein target especially, the weight comes off easier.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
