Hi Gillian - the baileys, doubles cream and ice cream smoothies sound devine - OMG I wish they were slimming I would be about 7 stones LOL. I went to my GP today at long last and she was really lovely about the whole thing, although she did scare me a bit and said my blood pressure is too high at the minute and they might not do my op if it stays that high. I am having it checked next Mon and might need to email Frederick to confirm it will be ok. I have had a cough and bad chest for 2 weeks but it seems to be getting better, so hopefully my BP will be down a bit by next week, especially with as my pre-op diet will be well underway (right!). I wonder if they have ever cancelled anyone because of high BP. Anyway I wish you all the best for Friday and cant wait for your first post afterwards. Take care. T x

Hi TC, not sure about the high blood pressure problem.perhaps theyll just need to monitor you a bit more carefully. lets hope its ok,enough people have high blood pressure and still have ops dont they.. thankyou for your messages of good luck..im feeling a bit agitated now, that everything is gonna fall into place ok..my car went dead yesterday out of the blue, imagine if that happened thurs morning, i would die!..also im really worried about transport to and from hotel..was booking charleroi transfer, but they seem to be messing me about and now i have lost some faith in them as went on trip advisor and there were people saying that they didnt turn up etc..prob is its early sun morn we travel back, leave hotel about 4.15am and there are no taxis operating that early, and trains dont start for couple of hours after that...so if they dont turn up....we have no transport and will miss flight...so thinking about car hire now....has anyone hired a car there...any tips? i looked on avis website and prices to pick it up and drop off at airport were good..anyone else done this?...Gillian x

I hire cars in France about 10 (yes 10) times a year because I have a holiday home there, if you are flying with Ryan air you can get a discout if you follow the link from Ryan air site and book with Hertz, all the campanile hotels I have used and they are a lot, have car parking facilities, you will need to take a credit card as well as the drivers driving licence with you. please remember you will probably not be able to drive yourself because of the op. if you want more info I'll give it to you here or pm me and I'll give you my mobile no. Good luck I would deff consider car hire, plus the men will be able to explore belgium when you are having your op

Hi bigsis - sounds like apart from the curry and low calorie smoothies (Gillians fault I know:laugh:) you have done well on keeping things low fat. I'm sure your BMI will be fine on Friday and I hope everything goes well (which I'm sure it will) Thank you for your good wishes and look forward to hearing from you shortly. T x

Hi TC, will keep fingers crossed for your blood pressure. Will probably not be on here again until post op now as I will be busy getting ready tomorrow night after working all day. I reckon wishful is top of the class as far as pre op diet goes, me & gillian are poor runners up I think! Will post as soon as possible after returning home on Sunday, take care, bigsis x

Well, far from feeling excited, I feel like a harrassed mum and nannan who needs more time. It will all come together though even if I will feel exhausted. If I'm not there for the flight, don't go without me! See you thursday, bigsister, x.

Sorry girls I'm the pratt for assuming everyone would know what a pm is.

I shouldnt have abbreviated it.

Anyay I have mailed the pics and some of her blog, hope you all received same and it was of some value to you.:)

She praises Dr Chris no end, cos she had a Hiatus Hernia removed at the same time and she was quite poorly.

She says he came back to the hospital at 8pm on a Saturday night to sort her out.

She had internal bleeding which the excellent nursing staff had discovered, they were that good!!!

Makes me feel a lot safer knowing all of this, hope it does the same for you.

Cant wait for you girls to tell us about your experiences, hope everything goes smoothly for all of you xxxxxxx

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
