Where is your fat hanging on tight?

Recommended Posts

My stomach is always the first place I puff out, followed by my hips. Then I lose it in reverse as well, hips go down before stomach.

I don't think my thighs will ever go anywhere. I've got a lot further to go, but I imagine after years of carrying around my body weight I will always have big legs.

Yep.........all my clothes sizes are down, except for my stomach. If I can find a shirt that fits around my lower belly, it hangs off my shoulders and chest. I guess it is a good problem to have, but it is frustrating. I am doing lots of crunches and have a trainer working hard at firming all the jigglies.......but I do worry about where the next 40 I want to lose are going to come from. I didn't measure before my surgery and sure wish I had. Mostly, I am really happy with everything.....best decision ever.

Guess I will just have a jiggly stomach.

Wouldn't worry about crunches n sit-ups etc they do absolutely nothing for the fat on ya guts.

Diet is the only thing that can get rid of that. Takes tie for the guts fat to go... so bloody frustrating hey lol

Agree. Drives me nuts to see ads saying get rid of fat in place x by doing this exercise...core strengthening is still a great thing to do for other reasons though.

Yep, that's what my trainer says. Spot reduction is impossible, but the cardio and core have to be good for me. I have been stuck at 165-167 for a month now. Big goal is to not have to move the 50 lb marker when I get on the scale. Just want to see the other side of 150 so bad. My hunger is returning and I know I am bored. Need to get out of the house more.

I do enjoy "chatting" with people who know what I am going through. Haven't told anyone around here, so you all are helping. I took 5 huge bags of fat clothes to my car to take to Goodwill and just couldn't do it. Not sure what the means mentally. I guess I am still worried about gaining it back and haven't even lost all I want yet.

Belly. Still have a gut and I dislike it immensely. Meanwhile my arms are getting skinny.

OMG - I can not lose these hips and upper thighs. I mean, I also still have the c-section super sag, but these hips are killing me. I've lost inches off my waist, though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
