As someone who is 45 and always mistaken for younger...and going in for a RnY next month...I kinda wish I hadn't clicked on this topic! LOL

A lot of people lose and look younger.

I'm not 45 plus, I am 40 ish and look 28. I regularly am approached by men age 26 or 28 who assume I'm their age.

If you don't want to look old, don't go the bare minimum on Protein of 60, shoot for 100 plus. Get you calories up ASAP. Take your Vitamins and drink lots of fluids (I run off coffee, not water). Also I notice the ladies that Keto like me, eating high fat low carb seem to age a lot better.

Really nice to hear from a seasoned vet !! Ya. Some months are very hard. Some procedures are harder than others. But I wouldn't trade it for my past life for anything!

I have a couple of friends that have had surgery and they do look a bit older at first, but it seems that with time (and maybe some injectables) they look great. I'm only two weeks out and doing great, but I've lost a lot of weight on my face. I am exfoliating and moisturizing like crazy. I also think keeping hydrated is super important. I will keep you all updated. I went to a botox party once and almost passed out watching people getting it done. I don't think that will be an option for me unless they completely knock me out.

when I was losing I thought the surgery aged me, especially when I started to lose hair. I'm at gw now and I do look better than when I was losing. I notice it most on my neck and upper chest area. On the bright side I have a visible collarbone for the first time in my adult life so may be it distracts people from my old neck!

This is one of my fears, too, because at age 61 I have almost no wrinkles at all in my face and I definitely look younger. On the other hand, I don't look so young when I can't walk because of knee pain, and I'm not going to look young if this excess weight kills me, so . . . I'll take what comes with this process. I'm ready for the new me!

This has been one of my concerns... I am pre-surgery- turning 60... I carry a lot of weight in my thighs & stomach. I am afraid when I loss the weight... 70 lbs hopefully,.. my legs won't look worse. I know its vain and not the reason I am doing this but it is a worry..

@2-Liter

Wow, your weight loss is really brining out your handsome face! You look much younger.

I have the dreaded post-weight loss induced turkey neck skin. But I use Vitamin E cream, and stay hydrated and find the turkey neck skin is way less prominent when I drink lots of Water.

I am 61 and have not had the surgery yet but I am planning on having my entire body re-done by a plastic surgeon. By that, I mean from the neck down. I am hoping to avoid a facelift because I have seen so many come out of those with lioness like features. I have seen people with severe weight loss before so I knew from the moment I made the decision that two years down the road I would be under the knife again for my changed body.

I would definitely get my neck done if I could afford it! Oh yeah, and a boob lift. :unsure:

Yep! I am going to cut it, suck it, pull it, push it, or anything else that needs to be done. You might want to give yourself a wishing session because there are many procedures that can be done without actual surgery by shots or laser. The only criteria is that you are stable for 18 months.

Thank You I am hoping to get about another 120lbs off in the next 18 months and then a trip to the Dominican Republic for Plastics by Dr. Goico. I am really spending the time researching and following up on his patients.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
