My sleeve surgery seems almost too easy. So far.

All this encouraging info makes me so much less scared. Thank you! I am scheduled for my sleeve tomorrow morning at 6:30 and I am praying for a recovery like you all have had. I have lost 16lbs just since the first of the year and hope to lose 100 over the course of this year post op.

I wish you all the best! I'm now 9 days out from surgery and honestly feel better than i did before surgery. I have experienced improvements in all the pre op pains i had, for example back pain. I'm so unbelievably happy that i did this! I am sure you will do great too!

So I was sleeved Friday and honestly feel fine tonight, just a bit sore in the stomach like I did too many crunches. I can easily drink liquids and even eat 5.4oz of Greek yogurt in one sitting. I sure hope I get the restriction feeling when I start solids or else this will all be for nothing because right now I honestly can't tell the difference.

Its been real easy for me too. And praise the Lord for it. Down 18 pounds since Jan 4th. Had surgery Jan 13th. This sleeve is just too much like right. Its a game changer indeed.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
