it's hard sometimes i feel i get so wrapped up in loosing and is it fast enough? i forget where i came from. 3/4 months ago, i was 47 pounds heavier. if you told me i needed to loose 47 pounds ever in my life i wouldn't be able to do it. yes i stall for a super long time. yes i so badly want the scale to say 199 instead of 200. but i'm also thankful very thankful the scale doesn't ever read my highest recorded weight of 255.

yes weight loss is confusing and always wondering why aren't i loosing faster? it took me my whole life to get up to 255. and in 3 months this surgery has got me to 200..

now that's amazing.

this tool is amazing.

sorry for rambling i just needed to say something, i know we all hate when the scale isn't going down as we think it should.

as long as it isn't going up i'm happy.

One thing to do now at this stage is to assess your Protein intake. Your Protein requirement is met by a combination of the protein from your meals combined with the protein from your supplements (Protein shakes, protein bars). Since your meal volume is beginning to increase, that also means that the amount of protein from meals is increasing, especially if you concentrate on consuming high protein meals. Therefore you could be able to reduce your reliance on supplements and the calories they contain. I went from 3 Protein Shakes a day, down to 2, then 1 and finally zero when my meal volume increased to 1 cup per meal at a year and a half. This is how I broke the few stalls I encountered along the way.

I may have to print this out tomorrow and carry it with me. I finally came to the realization mentally that I am 44 pounds down when I looked back to a year or so ago and in the same time period lost only 18, which I regained quickly. Logically I know all you wrote to be true - emotionally I just caught up!

the only control you really have is sticking to your program. If you stick to your program, the weight *will* come off. The rate varies so much between people that you can't really compare yourself to others. I was a slow loser from the get-go, but I have lost 227 lbs. It's your hard work and commitment to the program that get you to your goal, not your rate of weight loss. If you're not following all the rules, then start following them again. If you're not weighing or measuring and tracking your food, then go back to that (many people experience "portion creep" over time if they're not doing that - or at least spot-checking it). If you're already doing all that, then you're fine. You *will* lose the weight.

p.s. Plus, you are what we call a "lightweight". Lightweights almost always lose their weight more slowly than someone who starts off at 400 lbs. And the closer you get to your goal, the slower it comes off, too. there are so many factors that can affect your rate of loss. 47 lbs in 3/4 months for a "lightweight" is actually pretty good!

i stick to the plan and have learnt i'm a slow loser because i'm a smaller starting weight. sometimes i feel like we all get caught up in number and feel like we aren't doing things right especially when we compare to others. it's all natural sometimes i just need to remember i wouldn't even be at this weight without this tool . just need to take a step back and breathe lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
