Adding protein powder often, is this ok?

most people don't need to, but some do. I malabsorb Protein. My prealbumin level tanks if I don't average around 100 grams a day, so I will probably need to supplement with a Protein Shake every day because it's hard for me to consistently get that much through food alone. Too much protein is hard on your kidneys, though, so you don't want to go crazy with it. Most of us need to get 60-80 grams a day, so if you're getting more than that (unless you're like me and malabsorb it), then it's probably overkill.

I'm still in pureed stage but adding genpro to most things to meet my needs. From what I've read, it seems most people add Protein when they are years out. Is it safe to supplement your diet with Protein long term, even for life? I guess body builders do...So might not be that bad?

No problem with that. Bear in mind that the human gut has a limited ability to absorb protein though.. about 30-40g at one sitting..

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
