Any January 19th sleevers

Recommended Posts

I have finally passed the headaches but I was very cranky today. I added ice to my shake n blended it to make me full. It helped

kheter55, I'm impressed how quickly you got through your program, I first saw my surgeon in July 2016 (and I did not have a 6 month program with my insurance). Many, many appointments but........ my day is Jan 25th. Good luck to you and all the other Jan 19th's.

yes, I'm surprised too. The whole month of December was full between Pulmonary, Cardiac Drs., a nuclear stress test. all the classes and support group meeting, the nutrition visit. Tomorrow I have my endoscope, Tuesday the primary Drs clearance. Thursday to the dietician at the supper market for a tour and then I'm done. I am only 11 days till surgery.

My first appointment was 9/22 and all the evals, egd, and classes were in October. Then after my third follow up appt in Nov I was submitted. I think my Drs office shoots for the 3 months and then the 3 week insurance approval.

everything got approved right away and I only had to do one nutrition class, it made all the difference.

Hi. I'm the 25th January so nervous.

Sent from my SM-G930F using the BariatricPal App

I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I want everything to go smoothly and wake up with my sleeve done. No complications. I don't want to wake up and be told he couldn't do it for some reason. I am a worrier. I just wish it was the day after surgery right now.

One week from today is the big day. Can't believe just 7 days till surgery. Nervous and excited. The countdown begins...

Blessings to you all! My consultation is Monday. How long before the actual surgery from step 1?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My 1st visit with the surgeon was 11/15/16 and my surgery is on 1/19/17. It all depends how many nutrition classes your insurance requires. Mine only require one nutrition class.
Does anyone know if you fail the nicotine test will they cancel surgery.

Most surgeons will yes. Mainly due to the healing that smoking will prohibit.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
