Just Checking In, Seminar In Oct.

Recommended Posts

I'm checking off the days on my calender. I will be attending my senimar on the 4th, the first step, I'm getting excited, learning as much as I can.

My friend is having by-pass surgery this friday, she is excited, everyone tells me not to waste my time with the lapband and to have gastric by-pass, that I wont lose that much weight. but I know this is the best option.

I have my first seminar too on October 2. It's going to be a long road, but one I'm very willing to travel.

Hey lachica 39- I was banded the end of August & will have my 1st fill the day you have your surgery & my friends said the same to me about having the B-pass instead but I don't want the worry of something irrversable as well as dumping on myself while I'm giving an important work presentation.. I haven't lost much weight yet but that will all begin after my fill in Oct. & I hoep to lose 50lbs by Dec. and then 70 by March so I'll keep you posted on how I do. I do exercise a lot though. There is another website where I've been getting great support from people -better than here so I'll give you it now Info on the Lap Band weight loss surgery - Weight Loss Alternatives<br /> Good luck to you & you made the right decision Steph!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
