4th here. I'm ready. I did better on the pre op diet than I ever thought I could. Was hit with big NYE party, slapped in the face with reality of how much food plays into my social life. I did fine though. Even sang karaoke for the first time in my life. Good luck everybody!

My surgery is scheduled for the 4th. Getting a little nervous/anxious as my weight keeps fluctuating n the last couple of days. I've called my doctor, but of course the office is closed today. I'm afraid they will post-pone my surgery if i'm only 5lbs down.

I don't think there is anything that can prepare us for this! No matter how much research I have done, I still don't feel prepared. At this point, it is an educated leap of faith! You will do great. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

I had surgery last Easter for a ruptured appendix so I have a general idea of what to expect. It's probably harder if u never had a similar type of surgery because u really don't know how you will react.

Getting excited and a little nervous, mainly because I'm a single mom and don't want to be away from my baby. But it's for the best. My surgery is scheduled for the 4th at 9:30 am. I've been binge watching My 600 pound life in anticipation.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
