My Dr required me to do a full liquid diet for 2 weeks. Was so very hard I won't lie to you . I cried every day for the first 3-4 days around supper time. Its really hard and takes a lot of will power. I'm 3 days post op I find it so much easier now with my small pouch ,good luck

I am also hoping to have surgery within the next six months! I meet with my dietitian and the surgeon in a week. I have started drinking a Protein Shake for Breakfast and eating a Protein Bar between breakfast and lunch, I didn't eat in the mornings before so I started doing this to wake up my metabolism. Unfortunately (or possibly fortunately) my home scale died so I haven't weighed myself to see if noticed a good change. I feel like I've actually gained, no clothes are fitting me [emoji20] definitely discouraging. I'm curious to hear what they recommend for your diet!

I have started replacing two meals with Protein shakes or Protein Bars since I first met with my Dr. He said that was great it would make the surgery easier. I have about 2.5 more months until surgery.

When I started June 22, I was put on a 1500-1800 cal diet with max of 120g Protein and 150g carb. Quickly found out I could not eat that many calories. For last several month, I have been able to reduce to 1000 or less calories a day. Eleven days into LD has not been a problem.

Just got 4 containers of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup. Made a glass with low sodium chicken broth and was wonderful on a cold day in N Fla.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
