15 more days due to bad cold. This sucks.

Recommended Posts

Just felt like posting my woe. My surgery for revision was for tomorrow but since I am sick it got postponed until the 30th. I guess I am happy I won't be coughing and have a sore throat during recovery, but this still sucks. Also I will be in full on stomach mode during Christmas on a liquid diet. I would have been on liquids anyways but at least with the motivation of sudden death to curb my appetite.....lol.....but seriously. Also, I did a whole pre op day of labs and ekg classes yada yada.....that were for nothing. Well, I hope at least some of the tests are still good until the 30th....Maybe?? Anyways woe is me. Shed a tear for my Christmas, but I guess I will literally be starting the New year on a good path now. End of my pity party.

At my hospital pre-op visit they said labs and EKG had to be within 30 days, so hopefully you are still in that time frame. My date is the 30th as well and I have literally been walking away from sick co-workers, I want a quarantine sign for my cube because if I get delayed I have to pay more out of pocket due to new insurance year.

My stepdaughter brought the black death into my house so I couldn't have walked away from the impending doom. My baby is sick too now as we both are up sniffling and coughing right now. ???? And a relaxed focused surge is the best kind to have! Good luck to you both!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
