Up- And DON'T be alarmed about weight gain. Its just Water weight it will come off. Mine took a week. Your on a IV. I have my 1 month post-op on Monday. And I lost a total of 14lbs since I started the liquid pre. My cloths fit normal instead of feeling like I an going to burst out of them. I am happy with the slowness of the weight loss. Its exactly what I hoped for. I see such a difference in my body shape. Awwee i am so excited for you. My hubby was a troop ( no punt intended he is a sgt. In the army) he was there for everyday and made sure I walked at home and helped me down the stairs) make sure you have loose fitting items to where at home. ( I had no shame going out in my pj's and robe to stores for the first 4 days). They fixed a hernia while they were in there so I ended up with 7 incisions. No outside stitches so barely any scares. :-)

Hi guys :) I am back from the hospital.

The surgery went well on Saturday and finally yesterday morning I was discharged from the hospital.

All I realize is being taken to the OT and then I go blank, I woke up after 1.5 hours in the ICU (they had kept me there for observation purposes) and shifted me to my ward after about 3 hours of under ICU observation.

I woke up about 6 hours after the surgery, but was heavily sedated, did not feel much pain after the surgery except I had severe nausea and vomiting. The nausea, vomiting continued on the second day too and as Carrie had suggested I tried my best to start walking since the second day onwards. 50 steps every 2 hours. Pain was not much compared to the pain induced due to nausea and vomiting. My mom was there all the while to assist me, so things were smoother.

Day 3 : 2 days after the surgery, I did 100 steps every 2 hours and felt less pain, and continued being on clear liquid diet.

Day 4: 3 days after the surgery, feels good to be back home. Still on liquid diet.< /p>

I have a consultation with the physician on 23rd Dec. Currently, I have been given 1 multi-Vitamin to be consumed per day along with 2 tabs per day for avoiding the gassy feeling.

The only de-motivating factor here is I reached home yesterday (2 days after surgery) and my period started. So my daily walk has reduced to 50 steps every 2 hours, since I have severe abdominal pain as well. :( :( :(

Yayayaya! So strange. My Aunt flo started the day before surgery! Nerves I am guessing. It took me two weeks to feel normal. I was thinking about you. i am glad you posted! I do my fit bit now and get my normal 10,000 steps.

I went for my 1 month post-op while you are in recovery

They put me on soft foods for another two weeks since i completely skipped the puree stage. I could not handle it. I am on target and lost a total of 17lbs and I am slightly under 40bmi :-). I am so glad you got up and moving and I bet the doc's and nurses were very proud of you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
