REAL TALK - mental hunger - cpap

Recommended Posts

so i know the mental hunger thing is a battle many of us have to face but does anybody else struggle knowing where the line is between the real and unreal hunger ?!? i am always hungry and always have hunger growls and i miss the small stomach sensation in the beginning

i miss those first few months

i had surgery on may 10th, since then i lost about 90+ lbs but my stomach seems to be able to fit double what it was a few months ago, and i've been stuck on the same weight for 2 months

lastly, my cpap was for a while, filling me up with air despite lowering the settings, and i wonder if this affects my surgery in any way? i would wake up with intense gas pain like when we got surgery that first day

i don't know from day to day if i'm ok and it makes me so depressed and paranoid

bleh... anyone feeling this way?

Not sure what type of surgery you had. congrats on your 90+ loss!

The further out from surgery the more food you can get in. This is what works for me with hunger...

(1) I have increased my Protein goals to 100g / 130g. I add a good portion of vegetables with my meal. The Fiber and Protein helps me to feel full. I can easily get in a cup of salad with 4oz of chicken.

(2)Keep busy to avoid head hunger.

(3) ask yourself if its emotional/stress eating hunger or eating because your board.

(4) I brush my teeth ..For some reason it sooths my stomach and I don't feel the need to eat.

2 months stall: See if you can get an appointment in with your dietician. Reevaluate your food log and exercise program.

CPAP: I'm thankfully off mine! Make an appointment. See if they can make an adjustment so you don't have gas pains.

Congrats on your excellent loss.

I am 3 months out and I definitely notice I can get more food in than in the beginning. Not much, but there is a difference. I drink alot of Water or low/no cal drinks (like Bai or Crystal Light) to help with the hunger. I find alot of times what I really am is thirsty or at very least it gives my stomach something to do and makes my brain think I'm full. :)

I went off my cpap 2 weeks after surgery. I absolutely think at very least you need readjusted and definitely need a to be evaluated again to see if you still need the machine. I was lucky because I had a machine that self adjusted. I'm assuming yours does not do that, so it's a real possibility that the pressure is too high, even if you've lowered it manually.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
