Favorite Purée foods?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm sure you're all asked about this a bit, but I also just wanted to talk lol. I've been feeling pretty good and my surgeon cleared me for puree foods today, I was so excited. Well I found myself at KFC getting mashed potatoes for lunch then Taco Bell getting mushy Beans with nacho cheese and sour cream. I am pretty sure this wasn't what my surgeon had in mind, but I've been so over liquids and Soups I wanted something different.

Does anyone have any tasty recommendations for their puree stage that were quick and easy to grab? Or stored well once prepared?

I made a ricotta bake and portioned into tupperware and froze. Portioned things for smoothies and froze so that I could pull out and blend and go. Made cheddar, broccoli and cauliflower Soup and froze into portions etc. I meal prepped for the whole 2 weeks on puréed, in one day and froze everything. There are many great recipes on Pinterest for all the Bariatric diet stages. Oh and eggs. I ate eggs until I couldn't eat eggs anymore! I literally despise them now.

I did quite a bit of canned chicken with nonfat mayo added to it and some salt, pepper, and garlic. It was one of my favorite things, plus you get a lot of your Protein that you need with the chicken.< /p>

I also liked nonfat refried Beans with light sour cream and a couple dashes of hot sauce, mashed sweet potatoes, and Egg Beaters, which are great because they are high in Protein and fat free.

My plan says that eggs are in the "soft food" stage, but you guys can eat them during the pureed stage?

Yes, I was allowed to have scrambled eggs during the pureed phase. But I couldn't have hard boiled eggs until the soft stage, which is where I am now.

I ate pate, low-fat goat cheese, bruschetta, eggplant spread, hummus, and more. I was so happy to be off liquids that I only wanted delicious things. costco also carries these Beans in the refrigerated section that were a lifesaver. They are fresh, not canned, organic, and come in multiple delicious flavors.

I love plan puréed chicken or turkey. You can add a little BBQ Sauce, or ketchup or mayo. Delicious! My doctor and his nutritionist says fat free mayo is high in sugar, so they say to use regular mayo.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
