When does this get better?

Recommended Posts

Granted I'm only a week out from surgery, but I can't stop crying! I'm not in pain, so I don't know why I have such a feeling of regret. One minute I'm so full of hope, and the next I'm terrified. Please tell me this gets better. GBP was not an overnight decision for me, it was a four year, so I thought I'd be more mentally prepared.

After Bypass surgery your body gets dumped with hormones so a lot of people feel like this!! It does get better but if it continues, make sure and talk to someone! Were you taking any anti-depressants before surgery? If so, they may need to be adjusted due to your body absorbing everything different or not at all.

I read a lot of books about WLS before I got my sleeve. A common thread I read from WLS patients was a brief period of buyers remorse. Knowing this, luckily I didn't experience it, but I think this may be what you are experiencing. If so, they all said it will pass and once the scale starts dropping you will be glad you did it..((hugs)) feel better!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
