I could use some advice or a kick in the bum

Recommended Posts

Hey yall, I haven't been on in a while, life has been crazy, I just got married last month, and my little one just started nursery school. But I am in need of your support/advice

I have been at a stand still with my weight loss, really have just went up /down 2-3 pounds since about June. I am not in need of a fill i don't think, because when I eat "good" food = the food I am supposed to be eating, It only takes a little bit. I haven't exercised since I don't remember, and now I am beating myself up.

I was comfortable with the weight I am at for my wedding and I think this comfortable feeling has taken over, I am so lax now. I still have 50 lbs to lose according to my DR.

I went from a size 22, now I am in a 12 (OMG a 12)!!!!!!!

I really want to knock off these last 50 lbs so I am no longer classified as overweight, so I think I am going to start back on my exercise routine tomorrow, and see where that takes me.

As far as a fill goes.....do you think I should wait or not, I haven't had one since Feb, but I find when I eat chips, ice cream etc, I can eat a lot as when I eat a piece of chicken a few bites and I am done LOL.

Should i see if i can do it on my own or is that why I was banded in the first place? I could use some advice......

I am really afraid to eat chips or ice cream, or any other junk food. I think that if i start that i will go right back to a lot of bad habits. So i just do not eat them at all. I do not eat any fast food either. Hope to make new and better habits. You have done great on weight loss so far!!! Best of luck Donna

You might check and see if you need a "top off" on your fill. Before mine, I could eat a lot of some things, but a lot of other things got stuck. They stuck me behind the flouroscope and the barium just flooded through my gut...showing I really needed more fill. Now pretty much ANYTHING I eat has to be a small amount. I'd think getting a fill would be a good place to start. You'll have that physical reminder to kick it into gear.

Don't beat yourself up !! That will only lead to defeat. Everyday is a new day to get back on track. Begin again and hang in there you will suceed if you keep focused on the goal and never give up on yourself.

I agree, Don't beat yourself up. Celebrate that the band allowed you this "honeymoon" time off and just get back on the horse again.

(And if you figure out how let me know.)

I agree with DonHoll1 I decided that i would not eat any junk foods or anything I shouldn'nt. I have not had a fill yet despite my op being on 21.06.07 and have lost 50lbs. I have an appointment with the dietician on 24.09.07 and I shall ask for a fill then as I find that I am eating more than when I started. When I had a dietician appointment on 24.08.07 she did not think I needed a fill because I had lost 15lbs in one month. I was losing 3lbs a week, but that has now slowed right up because I lost 1lb last wee and 2lbs this week.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
