and of course, i sip on Water throughout the days as much as possible.

so, by being 2 days post op, and my above food log...does it look like i'm getting enough? i know i think i need more protein....so for dinner tonight i'll try to get in a few more ounces of the Protein. but from the above, what do ya'll think?

AND WHEN WILL THE SORENESS AND THE DISCOMFORT GO AWAY?!!! i just want to feel back to normal again in my mid-section/tummy area!

I barely ate anything my first 5 days but I was told not to worry about it at all but to just make sure I had at least a cup of milk a day.

I was banded on the 12th:whoo:, was told to try to get a minimum of 50 grams of Protein, and to be sure to try to prevent dehydration.

I have been using Isopure Protein drinks and GNC also has another one that has 50 grams in a 15 oz can. It is not to bad and Water. I was told to try to get 4/6 ounces of Fluid every hour.

As far as the pain yep it is getting better:clap2:, just tired :notagreeafter walking and so forth. But can tell a difference everyday. And I get to start driving again tomorrow.

Sounds like you are doing good.

Hey welcome back! I was wondering when you'd check in. Looks like you are getting stuff down well! Keep a bottle of juice of some kind with you all the time and sip constantly when you are up and moving about.

Hazeley, Glad to see you are back. You are lucky. I could only have liquids (broth) for the first 2 weeks. I had my first cottage cheese yesterday. Yummm:hungry:

I would say you are getting enough. My routine was and still is a Protein shake for Breakfast and dinner and 4 o zof broth or Soup for lunch. I have added pureed chicken starting at day 14 and its a real treat.

Keep up with the water/liquid and the Protein. It helps with the low energy level and you will also begin to feel better soon. The first 4-5 days were uncomfortable to me......Dave

In my non medical opinion. You are not going to starve to death while on liquids and mushies. Eat / drink whatever you feel you need to. Don't push yourself to "get in" enough calories or Protein. It just adds stress to what is already a pretty stressful time. And who needs that? There is plenty of time to work on your nutritional needs after you get on to solid foods.

Just make sure you don't get dehydrated, and it will all be fine!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
