My first rant

@@Djmohr, I hit the like button, although there is no way I can like your post. I hit it as a show of solidarity with you. I was reading through, thinking of all the crap I've gone through over the years with idiots on phones, lazy employees etc, and wondering if this poor woman had a Migraine all the while this was going on. Then I got to your sentence about having a migraine the whole time.

I'm afraid if I had been you, I'd be posting from jail by now. Hopefully someone tears that employee a new rear end over this. The sad thing is, so many people just don't want to work anymore, even when their work isn't all that hard. They're busy with their nose in their phone, thinking about the next Facebook post, or what they'll do when the get off work that day. It's too much work to actually think about what is happening, and then respond to it in an intelligent manner.

I hope all this smooths out for you soon. You've got an awful lot going on, and I am sure I don't know the half of it. You don't need Migraines to add to it all.

Yes! A smack an idiot App! Sign me up! Sorry for your frustrating ordeal. I hate it when "know it alls" with a condescending attitude try to turn the screws on you over the phone. They have the disconnect power too. It sucks!

There have been several occasions in my life where I have informed the person on the other end that if they can't get things straightened out, I will show up in person. That works for local miscreants, but is not enforceable over longer distances. About 25 years ago at a car dealership, after being jerked around for almost two weeks, I informed the service manager that if my truck was not fixed by the next day, someone was going to the hospital, and I was going to jail. I had my truck the next day. But I was much younger, and somewhat hotheaded in those days. ;-)

@@LittleBill

The in person thing works SO much better than over the phone that is for sure.

My husband uses me....LOL. He will tell someone who is irritating him on the phone that if they cannot get it together, he will put his wife on and they certainly dont want that. LOL. Works for him most of the time.

One of the RN's on the hospitals bariatric unit informed me (amount other things) that I need to stop complaining about pain since I had.elective surgery...she also told me that I would probably regain all the weight anyway... so little Bill I feel your anger. Report her to the offiic supervisor. She treats people like this because she counts on the fact that she shames them so they will not report hat.

WOW!!! What a $!#@# Omg, I would have thrown a bedpan at your RN. That is so unprofessional and outright mean. Did you report it? Did anything happen?

@theantichick I have RA, as well. 5 weeks post-op and I haven't had any of my RA meds since 6 weeks pre-surgery. Except for my right thumb causing me pain and grief, I actually feel great! The almost 50 lbs gone has worked wonders!

My rheumy said that it wasn't a guarantee, but the stomach tissue that's cut away releases a lot of hormones that are part of the inflammatory process. So she expected a drop in inflammation from the surgery itself, and then more as the fat tissue goes away. Before surgery, we were talking about biologics. I had to go off my meds a month before surgery, and I was off a month after surgery. My factors were a little bit high, but not terribly bad. I had a flare for about 2 weeks after surgery, but since it backed off and I'm back on my meds, I'm doing pretty good. Some soreness in my wrists/fingers/thumbs, but manageable with salonpas Patches, still haven't needed NSAIDs postop. We have taken biologics off the table indefinitely. We may still need to increase my dose of sulfasalazine and/or add in plaquenil, but I'm happy about the improvement. And 60# off is making my knees happier.

The CRNP was eager to get on it. Either that, or she is a very good actor. But I have gotten to know her well enough that I think she is going to follow up with enthusiasm. I got the impression that the guilty party hasn't been there long enough to have real experience - just enough to think she does. I suspect there will be a follow up conversation at my next appointment.

I would report her to the state. She has to renew her license like everyone else.

Alas being rude and unprofessional it's a licensing issue. However, I am an administrator at the hospital and she would have know that if she read my chart. She was disciplined and will not work in bariatrics again.

Ohhh hell no. I hope you told your surgeon about this nurse at the hospital. I have to say my surgeon rules her kingdom. The nursing staff has to address our pain and we are supposed to get whatever meds we need if we are in pain. The nurses have to check on the bariatric patients every hour without being called. I was brought the wrong food tray twice while in the hospital this last time and my surgeon flipped her lid and called the nursing staff and the kitchen staff on the carpet for it. If a nurse is shaming a bariatric patient they have no business working on that floor. That person needs to be reported and relocated.

1day1life4now", I am an administrator at the hospital. She would have know that if she read my chart... I am also one of the hospitals Patient Advocates. So trust me when I tell you I did everything you suggested and more. She is banned from the unit and since her position is "casual on call" I don't think she is getting many shifts.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
