In the first few weeks did u drop lbs per day?

Recommended Posts

So i dropped a lot of weight in my pre op diet but since surgery I seem to be dropping 1-2 lbs per day. Did anyone else do this in the beginning. I had surgery nov 22 my highest weight was 289. Before surgery I was 264. After surgery from swelling and fluids I was 272. I'm now at 250!!!! Not even two weeks post op!!

way to go. I dropped weight like crazy for the first 6 months. yes you will have stalls but just keep getting in that Protein and drinking the Water and taking your vit. it is a journey but one so well worth it. best of luck and keep us posted on your losses

Yes I did drop 2 pounds a day after surgery. This quickly tapered off to 1 pounds per day and then stalls as I progressed towards the maintenance phase.

Swelling and Fluid was 8 lbs so its possible. I didn't gain a lot of Fluid losing was slow at first for me. I thought surgery was a fail because I'd eat recommended amounts of full liquid w ease then around week 5 nerves woke up and everything was hard to eat

Yes for the first few weeks it was like that. then a stall around week 3 and then it kicked back in.

Don't worry, it should taper off and slow down and when that happens you will wish you were back at the days when you would lose 1 to 2lbs per day.

If i could do things over again, I would better leverage the heck out of that first 6 months before hunger set back in for me. (Honeymoon period) I was pretty good at sticking to the plan but there were times where i would eat something that would stall me out or slow my weight loss.

I guess the good news is I did end up losing all of my excess weight, it just took me longer.

Best of luck to you and you are doing fantastic already!

I don't weigh every day, but from starting preop to 6 weeks I showed a weekly loss that amounted to 1 lb per day.

Wednesday is weigh in day for me, and i'lol see if I've hit my first stall. This was my first week on solid foods, and I've eaten salads the past 4 days. Still low carb, but a big change from what I was eating on soft and puréed foods. So i''m not sure how that will affect my weight loss, but I'm also not worried about the stall. I managed to avoid the week 3 stall and so I'm overdue.

As of last Thursday I'm averaging about a pound a day. I think it's normal considering I only had to do a 2 day liquid diet before surgery on November 7th. I think I shocked my system, definitely not complaining though.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
