4 months out and stalled

Recommended Posts

Hi , I'm 4 months post op , down 68 lbs and now stalled . I've lost 4 lbs in the past 3 weeks ! Any one else experience this or gave any advice ? I'm eating 70-90 gms of Protein a day and 60-90 oz of Water . I work out 4-5 days a week ... getting frustrated and Amy advice would be greatly appreciated !!

If you've lost 4lbs in the last few weeks you are not on a stall. A stall is no weight loss or even a small gain. My stalls usually last over a week, many have stalls for months. Sounds like you are doing great. The only thing you need to change are your expectations. If you were stalling I'd suggest upping Water. When I had a stall I just increased my water to 80oz for a few days and it broke. The longer you are out the slower the weight loss will be. same as you approach your goal weight. If I'm down 68 lbs at 4 months out I will throw a party! I find normal weight loss for me looks like a set of stairs on a graph, not a downslope or a cliff.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
