So I was thinking of making a WLS Clothing Exchange. I know I was told not to buy any new cloths because I will be losing weight, and I personally would only donate the old ones. So why not pass them to a WLS buddy ;) So what do you guys think about that ???

@@proudgrammy, you think you're cute? You are.

Go to "Forums" tab, top left. Go to "General Discussion" (or something very close to that) and scroll down the drop-down list to "Clothing Exchange." Some people exchange and sell their no-longer-wanted things. I don't get it, as I wouldn't be willing to pack and send off things, etc. To each her own.

While scrolling the "Clothing Exchange" forum, you'll see a couple of posts about the free, semi-annual exchanges I organize in midtown. The next will be in March or April and will be posted. If you're in the city during the week, you'd certainly be welcomed to take part. Then, again, you might be in the southern part of Joizey. (That last part is really for RAymia, but applies to any of you in the NYC vicinity.)

As to not buying clothes, nonsense. You don't have to buy a complete wardrobe every couple of months, but certainly treat yourself like a worthy person if you see something you really like or if you need something.

Last but not least, absolutely donate your usable clothes if no other opportunities are available to you. Casual things are great for homeless services groups, business clothes are great for organizations similar to Bottomless Closet. Plenty of other non-profits are out there.

Thanks for the information I wouldn't want to sale my cloths and I work for the State so of course I'll by some new items. But the exchange just sound like a nice thing to do and I don't need anything in exchange... But I'll check the site out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
