Revision to Bypass, RNY from any Surgey coming up.... anyone else?

@@Who'sThere

I had my band for 3.5 years. They did an endoscopy on me where they found I had severe esophegitus. So the surgeon warned me there was a chance that he might have to do it in two ops. However, when he went in he felt comfortable enough to do both parts in one op. But took over six hours due to the scar tissue.

Did you have many issues with the band such as sickness on a regular basis? That would dictate how much scarring and inflammation you have.

I throw up more days than I don't. However, my EGD was good. We aren't really sure why I have so much trouble. My band was great until I gotpregnant. I had hyperemesis and had to have a complete unfil. Since then, I've not been able to tolerate much fill at all and I throw up regularly.

I developed my bad issues post pregnancy as well. Mine was in for 11 years. I did not have adhesions or scar tissue that prevented the bypass in the same procedure. My doc said he really wouldn't be able to tell until he was in there

Just had my revision from sleeve to bypass done on Tuesday. It would be a lot better if I wasn't allergic to narcotic pain medicine!

@pipergurl. I agree it was a lot less painful to have my lap-band. I'm having my own issues but I don't deal with them at work, my heart goes out to you. Hope you feel better soon.

Ugh...I'm hoping for a revision also. Had my band for 6 years. Having pain just to the left of my

Sternum. Complete unfill due to pain, reflux, vomitting. 2 months later (just last week) had endoscopy. Surgeon said I had a small hernia and took biopsies. Will see what is found. He wants to try to work with the band some more unless findings from biopsies show something different. I have regained ALL of my preop weight. Just want this to be resolved.

please make sure you stress the importance of your safety and comfort. in the end it is your body not the surgeons. you push for what you want and need good luck keep us posted!
Well, they only found a small hernia with my endoscopy. No other problems. So they want to work with my band. I am completely unfilled and gaining weight. I said I was willing to do what they felt was best for me. However, I wanted them to know ALL of my concerns for keeping the band. AND, I have to wait over a month before I can even get in to see the doctor to discuss anything or try to begin working with the band again.

I feel like I'm getting nowhere FAST!

My surgery date is Nov. 21, 2016 in San Angelo, Texas. I am having a gastric bypass revision. I'm excited and a little scared but ready also for a new life. I would love to hear from you or anyone who has gone through this or going to.

I am having the revision on Jan 23rd from Sleeve to Bypas due to reflux. How are you doing?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
