Dizzy / Lightheaded???

Recommended Posts

OK, has anyone been dizzy or lightheaded?? I was banded on 8/28/07 and last Thursday I woke up and was soo dizzy/lightheaded I questioned driving to work...of course some at work wanted to know how being dizzy was any different, but that's another story...LOL.

I am taking Micardis for high BP. My blood pressure had actually come down the month or so before surgery. Now I have had 3 out of 4 days with the dizzy thing (and the one day w/out was the day I didn't take BP med).

Has anyone else had this? I am wondering if it has to do w/ my BP. I have been getting all my fluids and protien, so I am pretty sure it is not dehydration.

I was banded 5/8/07. I just started experiencing lightheadedness (is that word?) over the last few days. Did some research and found it can be caused by low protine as well as low blood pressure. Considering we are both diagnosed with HBP I doubt it is related to low. Count your grams of protine. The protine helps retain your hair also.

I had the same issue and checked my BP. It has always been fine so I'm not on meds for that. Mine was dehydration and not getting enough Protein. I still feel it occassionally.

Check out my thread "Beware and Be Aware-Those taking BP meds". I just bumped it up. Not to be taken lightly!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
