Recommended Posts

Has anyone had this? Every time I burp foam comes out, comes all the way up my throat. It's white, very fine foam, anyone ever had this or heard of this?

I had the same thing just last week after a bout with a stomach virus. It was so bad I could not keep even Water down. Finally 2 days ago I saw my doctor & he took all the water out of my balloon. he says my vomiting with the stomach virus probably caused the band to slip. I had an upper gi today & will go see him again next week, I am scared to death he will have to leave the water out or else I will need another surgery.

i have been really struggling after my last fill, as a result i get the foam quite often , more so in the morning than evening. i should get it relaxed but the weight loss is good. if you recently had a fill this may be the cause

Its just saliva mixed with air, nothing to worry about. It is probably indicating that you've eaten to much or not chewed properley as your body produes extra saliva to try and slide the food through.

elcee is 100% correct ...... the dreaded foamy slime!

This has happened to me when I eat too much, don't chew well, or eat foods I can no longer tolerate after being banded and have restriction.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
