A Little Bit of a Difference

Recommended Posts

I'm about 4.5 months out. Lost 75lbs. Started at 276; I was 201 this morning. Today was the last day for the MD Renn Faire so I just had to go. I took a picture last year but didn't share it with anyone because I thought it looked terrible. I had another picture taken today and I just can't believe how much of a change there was. Last year I was wearing a 46" corset. The one from this year was a 36".

Oh and my hair is a hot mess in this, but that should be expected after being outside all day. Can't wait to see where I am next year!post-294555-0-25623700-1477277367_thumb.jpg

If you ever don't think you see or feel a difference, try picking up something that weighs the amount you lost! If you were to pick up a 75 lb. bag, you would freak out thinking that you used to walk around with that amount of weight everyday.

Sheesh, seriously. I can't imagine carrying around a 45 lb anything all the time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
