You really can't work out until cleared by your surgeon. You risk hernias and complications. Walking is just about all you can do for the next few weeks anyway. Skin has more to do with genetics, how much weight to lose, how many times you've lost and gained, and age. You can help by getting enough Protein and fluids, taking Vitamins and keeping your skin moisturized - and then some strength/resistance training once cleared. It still is no guarantee. Deal with the skin if it gets to that point - right now concentrate on getting healthy and eating properly. It's important not to dwell on the scale either - your weight will fluctuate and stall. Just stay with your plan and you will lose weight at a healthy rate.

Walk. Go for walks around your neighborhood. You cannot work out until you are month or two post surgery. But any doctor or nutritionist will tell you to walk. That will help the healing, the gas, and motivate your stomach

Go on YouTube and search for WLS videos, VSG, RNY, etc. Almost everyone has loose skin, depending on how much you have to lose, where you carry your weight, etc. Exercising can help skin on your arms and legs because the muscle grows to fill in the skin a little. But almost everyone ends up with loose skin on their stomach. Moisturizer, vitamins, and such are all good for you but you can go see LOTS of people posting pictures of their excess skin, they call them "skin flicks".

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
