Suggestions for drinks (non alcoholic)

Recommended Posts

I'm on my third week and feeling good. I've been reaching my Water intake goal but was wondering other than adding crystal light what other beverages can I have. I used to be a Coke drinker for decades but none at all since surgery. Thank you for your suggestions.

I've been drinking flavored Water called Nestle Splash. It is not carbonated and no calories and comes in several flavors. I do add more plain Water to mine because they do taste sweet! I also put a splash of G2 in my regular water to give it a flavor as well. Hope this helps!

@@carlacv There are quite a few no calorie beverages to try. I've liked the BAI brand flavored waters, their coconut waters are good too! The nestle splash is another good one and I love Arizona green tea.. zero calorie zero caffeine! I'd avoid anything that is carbonated!

I did Powerade Zero and Water for the first couple of weeks. When I finished the 24-pack of Powerade Zero that I got at Sam's Club, I started brewing Lipton Decaf Iced Tea, and I have been having that ever since. It seems more "normal" to me (outside the caffeine).

I drink a lot of hot herbal tea when the weather is cooler, too.

You can slice cucumber slices thin and flavor your Water. I also use fresh mint.you can make a pitcher and refrigerate or make it in single glass. I keep a pitcher of filtered water in the fridge. I especially like it with lemon and lime slices. A you can refill the pitcher for a few days before replacing the fruits.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
