One week after my surgery! ON my post op visit. She did it fairly easy!, But you need to make sure you un loop it with tweezers or something. then pull it out.

Only 2 of my steri-strips have fallen off so far but both had stitches sticking out. One fell out already and one I trimmed myself.

Annoying!!

I know it is annoying!! So tell me how have you managed to lose so much weight already!! I have lost 12 LBS so far, but I have not been to the doctors in over 2 weeks, so I am hoping it will be more. Do you mind if I ask you what you have been eating and how much!

I lost 12lbs on the 2 week liquid pre-op diet and 9lbs since surgery.

About 3 weeks before surgery, I started walking 45 minutes a day with my dog. I think that helped a lot in the 12lbs.

It's 2 weeks since surgery and I am just getting back into walking. I'm just switching from liquids to mushies right now too. I was consuming 575-650 calories per day and with mushies going to bump that up to around 800.

We'll see ... I'm sure I'm about to even out.

You're doing great too!!

Thank GOD I am not the only one unravelling at the seams! I had one sticking out last night and tugged and tugged at it until someone in the chat room said to "LEAVE IT ALONE!" I ended up cutting the bugger flush to my skin so I won't be tempted to play with it!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
