When do you feel no pain

Recommended Posts

Do you mean internally (stomach) or externally (incisions)? For me, my incision pain was completely gone at 3 weeks. Internally, I still feel pain at almost 9 weeks out. It definitely happens less but it's still there if I think too fast or eat certain things. I know it's hard but be patient. It'll get better soon!

What kind of pain? I am 3.5 mths out and didn't have pain other than muscle near biggest incision and that wasn't more than 6 days or so. You should not be having pain when eating or drinking.

I'm just wondering when all the pain officially goes away I'm 2 weeks post op still in lots of pain.

I was in the hospital 8 hours and sent home with pain pills. I took one. I had no pain, I drove the next day, walked a mall in four days. I was 67. Please call your doctor, and trust your gut instinct. I also had a hernia repair.

It's normal. I'm four weeks out and still have internal pain ( large incision). It's less and less but I can't lift a laundry basket or my 3 yr old yet without feeling a sore dull aching pain. Not sharp like after surgery give about 6 weeks I have been tomd

I kind of had the same question. I'm a little over a week post op. I am not feeling any pain with incisions or anything but just this nagging pain in my abdomen. Does anyone experience this pain or know what it could be?

I also have been dealing with a pulling /burning pain in my lower left abdomen. No pain near incisions those are fine. I'm 2 weeks post open and that's the only thing holding me back.

I am going on 5 weeks post op and I would say that between 3 and 4 weeks I no longer felt any discomfort, including soreness. Hang in there! Honestly, unless I see my incision marks, I feel so "normal" again, it seems hard to believe I even had the surgery (besides getting full easier, which is a good thing, of course!).

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
