3 weeks post op bypass and just started my supplements. Curious how many pills is safe to take at one time. Would hate to get an obstruction of pills in my gut or stomach. Obviously not a lot at once but these Calcium tabs are huge! The dose calls for 2 tabs twice a day. I have no problem swallowing the pills whole (actually they feel rough and get hung going down when cut in half) but can I take 2 at a time or do I have to space out all 4 tabs throughout the day. That's hard to keep up with 5 different dosing times (5th being my Iron and Multivitamin since you can't take iron and calcium together).

Just curious what everyone else does for supplement timing and how many you take at a time?

:-)

Thanks for the feedback. These are from bariactiv with the B12 nasal spray meant for post surgery pts...but pills are still big. I didn't like the taste of the chewables.< /p>

I was thinking about the Patches but not enough evidence out there to show the absorption is as effective...or is there and I just can't find it?

The practice I go to prefers them and they do bloodwork to make sure of their efficacy. They have us use Multiplus from patchmd.com. the days I forgot, I felt tired. I put the patch on now after my morning shower so I won't forget.

@@rnjen5611 I also get the Bariactiv Vitamins and Calcium from Nascobal. Those Calcium pills are not supposed to be swallowed whole but slowly dissolved in the mouth or chewed.

Nascobal is the name of the B12 nasal spray but the Calcium that comes with it and the Nascobal come from Nutrition Direct.

I find it really hard to take 4 of the Calcium pills per day and the chalkiness is offensive. I recently got Bariatric Advantage strawberry chews and really like the taste. They're like candy, but they're expensive.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
