Hi sleevers

Im 10 days out from surgery and have been losing weight. But im right now very depressed as i see others enjoying nice food. I am a real foodie and currently regret doing this. Still its done now. Painful drinking and very uncomfortable feeling. I would recommend having a good hard think if you can avoid this surgery. Im paying the price for lack of discipline in the past. I can already do things like put my shoes on which was hard to do. At the moment my life is dull and boring. Will post how i go .

DeeJay,

The remorse you are feeling is natural, and a lot of people have some regrets during the recovery period. I can't promise you that you wont have any regrets in the future, but I can tell you that it does get better once your stomach heals and you get into the solid foods stage.

This time is temporary. Life may suck right now, but you did something that your body will thank you for later. You are going good to be able to eat again...and who knows...maybe the food you are missing may not be the same for you when you can eat. From what I've read on here for many, the food they ate before no longer appealed to them. Keep fighting the good fight and best of luck!

I am 3 weeks out and the hardest part of the recovery is psychological! For 40 years, I have eaten what I want and how much I want and now I can't. BUT this is what I needed. I had to willpower to stop eating. I am only 3 weeks out and people tell me everyday.....I look amazing. Five weeks ago, I wore a 26W and today I wear a 18w. I have stopped loosing weight but the inches are dropping. Hang in there.....it is difficult but I needed it. No regrets for me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
