Hey Debbie - with this surgery I felt minor incision pain. I had gallbladder removal and endo scope last year, and extreme pain in my abdominal wall thag was especially bad getting up and down and in and out of bed. The incisions are in different places but if your surgeon used locations in the abdominal wall that are more sensitive perhaps that is why. I was expecting that kind of pain and felt like I was lucky not to have it.

As everyone else has said, call your Dr and team. I used yoga pants with the band flipped upwards as a belly binder of sorts and it helped. They may be able to give you an actual binder.

Ask your Dr's office about a binder, many give you one at hospital. When I see belly it might be pulling down and causing more pain.

Check medical supply ...sometimes they are near the hospital where you went. Healing energy to you.

Hey all! Just wanted to give an update. Called my surgeon, went to see him..he did say I was very swollen, more so than usual. Wasn't exactly sure why. Said my surgery was as simple as any other. No major movements that was needed, no excess tugging, etc. so he did some scans, checked once more for a leak (just as a precautionary) more blood work, listened and looked and everything seemed fine. Told me to rest easy for a couple days, ice my tummy and gave me a binder. Things have only went up from there. I'm doing much better, and am up walking around a lot easier now! I actually was able to pick my daughter up from Kindergarten today and that made my day! She immediately said "Mommy! Are you all better!?" So thankfully I'm getting there! My husband is very supportive, very helpful, does everything he can to help and even tries not to eat around me as he feels guilty for eating! Poor guy. He goes back to work in the morning but I still have my awesome mamma to help me around the house with my 5 y.o. And 3 y.o. (Praise Jesus!) haha. So thanks again for every ones suggestions. I'm glad I went before something major happened! Oh, and when I went to the doctor, I weighed in at 320! 35 lbs down from my HW and 20 lbs down from surgery date! Woo!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
