Hello everyone! I'm new...pre-op from Long Island

Recommended Posts

That does make sense...eating less in the evening. So it seems like lunch was the last meal that you replaced. That is a good idea. Maybe I will try to start thst after Thanksgiving...my surgery is not scheduled until Dec 23.

Sayville, NY here. I'm using Dr. Buchin with Huntington Hospital. I'm 2 months into my 6 month supervised diet. Will have surgery (if I get approval) on 3/13/17. I was already given a date because of school! I've heard great things about Dr. Atwa! His associate Dr. Visswinkel did my gallbladder and that whole office was great!

I must say the team is outstanding my doctor is Dr. A. He is great. I am currently in the pre-op stage to my surprise the first week was great. I really believe it could be mine over matter. I'm entering my second week as of October 2. Am I surgery is October 10 one of my biggest concerns is the postop. But I do have a great support system.

@@ginabee38 I'm feeling alright. Today I'm not allowed to have any Protein shakes..only Clear Liquids. I feel like I have a short fuse today. The clear liquids aren't filling but I'm trying to keep my mind occupied. I have to be at the hospital at 5am!

I'd probably have a short fuse too...the day before surgery and you can't eat to ease anxiety. I don't know if you do that also, but I think I would have a problem with that. Good luck to you...when you're feeling up to it post-op, I'd like to hear how you're doing.

That's where I had mine in August. They are wonderful. The care I received was absolutely top notch.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
