I had that same thought but then I remembered all my "reserves". As long as you are staying hydrated, you'll be fine.

A couple sips is all you need right now. It's a sip by sip that will get us all through. Every sip counts. And the more Protein you are able to get in the better you will start to feel. :)

Have you ever watched Survivor? I could be on that damn island for a year without food and probably still be considered an overweight BMI! . You can live without food - but not Water.< /p>

On point! LOL!!!!!

Has anyone ever considered adding unflavored Protein Powder to Protein Drinks, Soups etc? During my first attempt at the preop liquid diet I had a hard time getting in enough Protein because of liquid volume. I was thinking about doubling up so i could get more protein per cup of liquid.

Where can you find that? Walmart doesn't carry it.

Amazon, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe all have unflavored Protein powder. GENEPRO is controversial, do a search and read the messages. I like Quest unflavored.

But yeah as all have said think of survivor. We all survived, you will too! But the more sips of Protein shake you can get down, the better you will feel!

In my area, Winco carries unflavored whey protein by the pound. I also found it at Sams club.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
