Yes it gets better......but you don't have to live with the constipation.....call your doctor and find out what they recommend you to take. Feel better soon!

Yes, it will get better! Your period is probably screwed up because you're releasing a lot of estrogen that's been stored in fat cells in your body. The Constipation is usually a symptom of dehydration...are you getting the recommended amount of fluids each day? I'm very iron-sensitive, so I take a Fiber Gummy daily and it does the job as long as I'm drinking plenty of Water, too. Hang in there, this is just a bump in the road :)

I drink fluids fine, but maybe the gummy fiber would be a good idea. Thanks!

Called my dr for help on constipation....they told me to do everything I already have been. I finally did the enema deal...lots of fun...but it helped a bit, hopefully lots of Water, laxatives and stool softener will get me through this. It's so painful. Hard to be positive.

I put Miralax in my Water daily. Before that, I used Benefiber, but it wasn't enough. Mine had gotten really bad also, so I used Milk of Magnesia. My Dr recommended to put it in a drink in the morning and drink that until it was gone. I did it, and let me tell you... just prepare to be near a bathroom all day!

HANG IN THERE! It will totally get better. I had my period for 3 months straight. No joke. I thought I was going to lose my MIND! I am nearly 5 months out & my period has stopped. It's still not normal but it's not everyday. Just hang in there. You're doing great!

So far it hasn't done a thing. Waiting by the bathroom, hoping it works.

@@Raynbolite give it a little time. FYI, My Dr recommended twice the dose, but I'm not a Dr, so if it doesn't work, maybe you can call them and find out if more is necessary.

Good luck, and I hope you are feeling better soon!

I decided to do twice the dose. The nurse said I could try it again. Definitely getting my fluids in today!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
