10 days post op nauseous

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

This is my first topic in here, I had my gastric sleeve surgery on the 26th of August, I was nauseous on the third day and unable to sip on anything, afterwards I started feeling better I was trying to get my liquids in I still feel some discomfort but nothing really painful, but today I took my Multivitamin and also a medication that prevents gallstones then had two sips of some powder Soup, immediately I got extremely nauseated and threw all the liquids up and also some blood, I called the hospital and they say there is nothing to worry about and that if it happens again I should go to A&E, at the moment whenever I drink just a sip of Water I feel still a bit nauseated is this normal ? I am going tomorrow for staples removal anyway but wanted to check if anybody here had the same experience. Thank you

Yes Kristen I was given anti nausea medication which I took and me slightly better, but last night I was having this chest ball that prevents me from taking deep breaths only when lying on my back, I also woke up nauseous and can't stand any smell Im now scared to put anything in my mouth including Water, I suspect my oesophagus was irritated when I vomited I am so scared I will have a hernia or some bad acid reflux

I am on day 15 and yesterday I had similar reaction. After taking my Multivitamin (which I previously had no issues with) I started to feel sick. All day! I dry heaved last night. Can't stand smells, I feel a little better today - haven't taken the multi Vitamin yet. I had some Water, 2 oz of Protein Shake and went and got a sugar free slurpee. Gonna go back to bed for a while and see how I feel.

@@KristenLe I have seen the nurse today, she said that it was probably a reaction to the gallstone medication, and maybe I irritated my oesophagus she didn't seem too worried about this, she told me I can move on to puréed food today, she also recommended I take the nausea pills when needed.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
