I was just sleeved yesterday. Was it uncomfortable when you drank the next day? I am taking slow tiny sips, but it hurts going down a bit.

Also, what about your BM? When did you go after surgery?

Finally

With this nauseous feeling go away? I am taking Zofren.

Yeah it's painful and uncomfortable to drink for a few days... feels weird like in your chest.

I don't think I had a BM for maybe 5 days or a week... I'm not totally sure but they are very few!

Hi. I was sleeved August 22. I really never had any pain drinking - just took tiny sips and was fine. It could be that your throat is sore from the tube but if you are concerned ask your doctor.

First BM was like 4 days out

My nausea went away as soon as I stopped taking the pain medication.

In my experience zofran helped me not throw up when taken for another condition but I still felt mild nausea when I was on it.

Good luck to you and congratulations!

I hear you! I was sleeved 3 days ago, and am still getting used to how tiny my sips of liquid need to be. If I take very tiny sips, with a minute or so inbetween, I don't get that "golfball in my chest" feeling. Walking around seems to help move Fluid through, so I walk around a lot after taking sips. I used to be a big Water drinker, chugging down a pint without a breath, so this is quite an adjustment. Hoping drinking gets easier before long! Seems like a full-time job trying to get that 1.5 liters/day down!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
