I'm not sure if I'm im in a stall.

Recommended Posts

My HW prior to surgery on 8/8 was 426, I rapidly dropped to 379 as of today. I was used to seeing 2-3 lbs a day, now it's only maybe 2-1 lbs a day... I know I have a long way to go, and I'm following all my Drs orders to a t. Anyone else have this issue?

Sounds to me like you've had great progress so far and if you're still losing 1-2 lbs per day, I wouldn't call that a stall!

It is normal for things to slow a bit, or even stall as your body is going through a lot of changes. Now and again, it "takes a break" to recharge.

Sounds like you're still doing great so keep doing what you're doing!

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate and we all experience stalls.

Almost everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery.

Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, exercise when cleared, and stay off the scale.

Losing weight is not a stall. The more weight you lose in total, the slower your daily (I really don't suggest weighing every day unless you can detach from it), weekly and mothly loses are going to be. That is natural.

I was also sleeved on 8/8. My day of surgery weight was 191. By 8/15, I was down to 182 and the scale hasn't moved since. I am guessing it is normal to slow down while your body adjusts to your new diet. I'm hoping it'll start moving again once I advance to soft foods.

It will..my weight slowed down to. We had our surgery the same day I started with 239 now I'm 217.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
