It is now August 13. It's been a week since I last reported. I stalled and did not lose anything during this time. Finally this morning I had lost a pound. I am at at 215 for a total loss of 20 pounds since August 1 surgery. I start my 3rd week post op Monday.

You've lost alot in a short time. Your body needs to adjust. The scale may not always move but your body is changing (take measurements). Congrats!

None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience stalls and fluctuations. Almost everyone experiences a stall about three weeks out.

Don't be upset if you stall about now.

August 17 and 17 days post op. I have lost 27 pounds since I first went to see the doctor and 23 pounds since surgery. Being a male I expected to lose more but it really feels good to weigh 212 pounds. Went to a family birthday party last night and I got lots of compliments about the new weight. I have already gone down to a size 36 pant. My gut is not quite gone but major reduced. Seems I gain there first and lose there first. I am a heart bypass patient so my doctor wants me down to 170 as my target weight. I got out my pictures of me in high school and looked at the old 170 me. It's hard to imagine being able to get there. I have moved to some cream of Soups and others with baby food consistency. My big goal of getting to 210 is right around the corner. After that the next one is the 200 mark.

August 21 morning and I finally got under 210 at 209. Big goal for me. I am a male at 63 and haven't see under 210 in 20 years. Total loss is 30 pounds since a week before surgery date of August 1. I am walking on the treadmill 4 times a week for 30 minutes.

Keep us posted. As a pre-sleeve 55yo male, I'm curious how your journey continues so I might get an idea about what I might expect from my future experience.

I am drinking Isopure and not having any problems.

Can anyone tell me about the entry scars and what do they look like a year from now

Are you referring to the little laparoscopic scars??? If so, I'm 3 months post op and I can't find any of mine. They were all tiny and now they're all gone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
