Tomorrow is the day

Recommended Posts

so my surgery is tomorrow and I have to be at the hospital at 9:30am. I am so nervous but I know that is normal because it is a big surgery but I'm praying that all goes well..earlier today I was questioning if this is really what I want to do but I know that's my inner fat girl trying to hold on but I know I am ready, has anyone else felt that way the day before surgery? and I will keep everyone updated. congratulations to everyone else getting the surgery tomorrow. good luck

If you DIDN'T have the jitters the day before a major surgery then YOU, my friend would be a ----wait for it--------wait for it--------------again--wait for it--------------A WEIRDO!!!!! :)

Seriously, my friend, let it go. You have done all of the prep work. You have chosen the best bariatric team you could. You have jumped through every hoop. Now, you need to let it go.

Take a deep breath, leave everything about tomorrow in your surgical team's skillful hands, under God's Grace.

All will be well. I promise.

NOW

GO TO BED!!!!!

(post when you feel up to it and let us know how wonderfully well you are doing and how WLS was the best decision you've ever made. You may want to wait until a week post op for the feeling wonderfully well part . :) But, You WILL . )

You got this! I had the same feelings the night before. It can be described as bittersweet.

All I can say is that your life will feel better than it ever has a month from now. First 2 weeks may be tough, and the 3rd and 4th week a bit awkward getting accustomed to eating with your new pouch. The rest is history

Weeks out: 16

SW: 365

CW: 285

WL: 80lbs

Thank you everyone for the support. It really put a smile on my face. You guys are the best but I'm going to head to bed before I stress myself out even more. ❤️

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
