I had lap band on August 6th and everything was fine until yesterday morning. I felt nauseous in the morning after I had my slim fast, I didn't vomit but thought I was going to, that evening about 6 pm I got nauseous again, then again about midnight. I am feeling kind of sick today. I don't know if this is cause for concern. I had a little bit of applesauce, that my doctor said was ok. I took a couple of bites and felt nauseous. I stopped eating and it settled down and then after a few minutes I tried it again and I was ok. My stomach feels touchy today. I drank my Protein Shakes today and it seemed ok. I have not had my first fill yet.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Is it cause for concern?

It doesn't sound like a band problem to me...maybe you just have a bug you're fighting off? Are you drinking enough Water? Sometimes when I get a little dehydrated it can make me feel a little nauseated. I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you so much, I went to the zoo yesterday and didn't drink many fluids so you are probably right. I hadn't even thought of dehydration. I started drinking more fluids and the nausea seems to be disappearing. Thank you for answering this, I appreciate it so much.

I was banded last Tuesday and had been doing fine until Friday during the night, when I got really bad nausea. I had nothing to drink or eat before I went to bed so I could not figure it out. After reading your posts I wonder if it was because I went to the store and did a lot of walking on Friday and did not drink enough liquids. Was not aware that could cause nausea. I am going to change that right now and start drinking, drinking, drinking. That is the only problem I have had and I don't want it again.

Thanks for the advice.

It is always important to get your liquids in, but much moreso in those first weeks after surgery. Your body fluids, sugars, etc. are swinging back and forth and you have to really nurture yourself with Protein and fluids constantly. Your body is in the process of trying to heal, which takes energy, and your resources are being depleted. Get in the habit of carrying a bottle of Water with you everywhere you go. I have one permanently in my car, one by my couch, one by my bed and one by my computer...at all times.

I had nausea that was caused by residual effects of anesthesia.

It FINALLY went away after about a month. Until then, it was rough!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
