It is absolutely normal. Just be sure you are sticking with your plan - getting in your Protein and Water and you'll lose! Stay strong!

You just had major surgery and are swollen and healing.

I highly recommend staying off the scale for a while.

None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience fluctuations, slow downs, and stalls.

Just about everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery.

Just focus on getting in n all of your Protein and fluids, and follow your program,

Embrace the Stall

15 lbs down in 10 days is wonderful

but no way - can you keep that same weight loss monthly

gaining a lb here or there..............

don't fret, it will come off - and you will continue to lose

in the meantime - go to the corner drug store

buy a chill pill!! LOL

Thanks for the responses. The truth is, that if someone asked me this question, u would probably answer them the same way... But when it gets personal, its harder to see it in the same way... So thanks for putting me in my place????

Totally normal! It's the dreaded stall. I lost 11 lbs my first week...2nd week NOTHING. I WENT UP AND DOWN 1lb didn't lose until week 3... I'm almost to week 4 and down 21 lbs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
