@@MarieLouise hang in there! When can you begin purées? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks! I'm chugging along. No puréed foods until day 21. I can add cream Soups and pudding tomorrow, which I am very happy about. I think I can do oatmeal on day 14. It's crazy how different our plans can be. My goal for Fluid is only 32 oz and I really have to work to get there.

Yes. Everyone's plan is different. I was required to have liquids for one week now I'm on purée for 2 weeks. As long as we see results... That's what's important. I'm required to have 64oz of Fluid. I think Im probably at the 24-30oz mark. It is difficult

I was sleeved on the 14th! Mostly everything is going well for me. I'm drinking 60-80 ounces of Fluid daily and getting about 80-100 g Protein. I've also been eating 3 Tbsp of very soft Proteins (egg, cottage cheese, chili, tuna salad, mashed Beans, etc.) 3 times a day since Tuesday.

I had my first follow up today and got my staples out, and all seems well.

I haven't had a bowel movement yet but also not feeling constipated...yet. My pain in my left side is still crippling when I am in a sitting position. I do feel hungry sometimes, which is puzzling since my NUT said this would definitely not happen.

I am 33 years old. HW: 267 SW: 252 CW: 246

I was sleeved on 7/13. I feel really good. No pain but I am slow moving. I am getting about 40-48oz Fluid and 60g Protein. I had my first post opp check up and I am right where I should be. Just started cream Soups yesterday.

Everyone's pain level is different. It's normal to still be sore at this time as we've only been out a week. I have a bit of soreness but I don't need the pain medication given- it's manageable. The sleeping pattern is still tough. Like you I only feel comfortable laying on my back. I'm usually a side sleeper so that's been taking some getting used to.

I had my 1st visit post op today. Prior to the pre-op diet I was 238. The day of surgery I was 220. I weighed in today at 224! I've heard about patients carrying weight from the Fluid and surgery but I was surprised to see that I'm still up 4 pounds a week out which has really been discouraging. My NUT told me to focus on my 14pd weight loss victory but it's difficult to accept the fact that I haven't lost in the week following surgery.

On the bright side of things. I was permitted to begin purées today.

I'm 7/13 and feeling great. Down 15 pounds since surgery (230 to 215). No pain except when I try to get up from a laying position. sleeping is so uncomfortable because I can only sleep on my back and it hurts my back!

My main issue is HUNGER. I am so hungry all the time and cannot focus on other things. Watching people eat makes me so mad/sad.

I was sleeved July 15th. First 4 days were hell. But now, I feel good. Walking around the mall and grocery stores. I have to stay on top of my Protein, or I get weak. I get 60-80 gr of Protein each day. I can't wait to go to pureed foods!

Lost 10 pounds! Shoot.....anyone should if they eat low cal and higb protein! I just have a tool to help me now.

I miss eating. Really eating food. Went to dinner the other night and had Water. I actually got sad. Like a friend died. :(

Good luck fellow sleevers! Let's all keep in touch!

I know it's breaking up with someone you love but probably not the best relationship anyway. In the end it'll all be worth it as the numbers keep decreasing lol. Yes... everyone lets all keep in touch and keep one another motivated

Sleeved on 7/11. Struggling to get more than 32oz of Water in. I'm supposed to be on soft foods phase but my stomach can't tolerate it so I'm doing creamy Soups instead.

I'm having a difficult time w/ Protein. I'm never hungry. Trying to do better with staying on top of things. Fluid is so important... Maybe a timer would help? Wouldn't hurt to try. Perhaps set it for every 5 mins as a reminder to hydrate.

Hi everyone! I had the sleeve on July 13th. I went for my post op visit on July 20th and I've lost 20 pounds. But I'm starting to get worried!! I can't get in enough Protein. I'm really struggling drinking smoothies, shakes, and Soups. I've mixed in Proteins but I still can't eat/drink much. I can't sip too much at one time because I get miserable and sometimes nauseous. Anyone have advise on how I can get in the Proteins without being miserable and possibly throwing up?

Have you tried Isopure's Protein Drink? It's thin like juice. One bottle has 40 grams of Protein, if you can manage 2 bottles per day you'd meet your protein requirement and most of you Fluid req as well.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
