Wk 4 - only 3 pds down. What happened?

Recommended Posts

I lost about a pound a day for the first three weeks, now I've only lost 3 pounds week 4. What happened? Is this normal? Will the weight loss pick back up?

Totally normal. It will pick back up.

I'm only about 2.5 months post op and I went through a period of about 3 weeks when I didn't lose any weight. It was very odd and frustrating. But I'm back on track now! :)

hi...I am one month post op after RNY gastric bypass. My weight has stalled for about 7 days day before and after my menstrual cycle. I started eating soft foods but feel sad that my weight has stalled so long. I was doing so well for 3 weeks I lost 11.7 kilograms

Yes it's completely normal to have a stall, your body is hanging on to every single fat cell because your body is in starvation mode right now so when your body catches up to the surgery then you will start losing weight again. Don't worry it's completely normal and will happen a couple of times

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
