I didn't post my surgery to FB but I did tell everyone one I see regularly. I'm not shy about telling my story to servers when ordering food or my nail lady etc. I didn't make a post on FB because I didn't want that to be the focus of my interactions with people. With 89 pounds lost on 8 months it is obvious in my pictures that I've lost weight. A few people private messaged me to ask what I've been up to.

I'm proud of my accomplishment and might make a public post when I hit 100 pounds lost. Not sure yet.

I also did not post anything to FB about my surgery and I only told three people. I think I updated my profile picture, which I had set as an older picture for quite some time at about 8 months out, then again at a little over a year. I haven't update my profile pic since Christmas, but the amusement of looking cute in pictures hasn't quite escaped me yet, lol.

I haven't mentioned my surgery on social media. I rarely post photos of myself but when I do, I don't mention WLS or weight loss.

I've never said anything about my surgery on social media. Actually, only a select few people know in my circle of friends and family anyway. I was on vacation in San Diego a few months ago and had sooo many pictures being taken of me, and it was at that time that I realized I no longer hated the way I looked in pictures. Yeah, I'm still fat, but I actually like the way I look. I actually feel like myself, and you could see by my smile in these pictures that I was genuinely happy. So I showed a ton of full body pictures on Facebook while I was on vacation, slipping them in here and there with my zoo pictures and my beach pictures. I got a few stunned and congratulatory questions/comments but mostly, people were just happy I was happy. I don't think I ever will tell people about my surgery, but I will certainly be showing people. :D

I haven't made it public on social media either. But I love that I no longer hate having my picture taken :-)

I've shared progress photos here and in a sleeve FB group for my surgery month/year. I didn't post a lot of pics of myself in the time leading up to my sleeve. I've been much smaller in the past, and posted plenty of pictures then. I post now, without much regard for what I look like in the picture, but still don't post all that many pictures, especially full body (even though I'm almost at goal).

I thought long and hard before sharing on social media but I felt like it might help others who might be on their own weight loss journey. I made my announcement about 2 weeks after surgery. (I waited until after surgery because I didn't want those comments that might discourage me.)

I have only posted about 4 or 5 progress photos (and I'm 5 1/2 months post-op) but what I have posted more are my NSVs (non-scale victories). And I can't tell you how many people have messaged me and talked to me in person and said how much it has encouraged them to watch my journey.

I had no idea how sharing this part of my life would impact others but it definitely has! I think it is a very personal decision whether to share such a personal journey but for me, it has been a blessing. And I have received such sweet compliments and encouragement on those days when I get frustrated. Hope that helps!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
